Cinnamon is one of the most beloved of all scents, particularly in the winter. It is warming and therefore excellent medicine for cold conditions, ranging from chills to arthritis, from rheumatism to the flu or common cold. Similar to ginger, cinnamon has the added benefit of not being quite as drying. It is also good for improving insulin resistance, and is being researched for use in hyperglycemia and diabetes.

There are many, many uses for cinnamon.  Cinnamon sticks—which are nothing more than the inner bark—can be combined with apple cider or even wine for a warming, nourishing beverage.  The inner bark has been used for everything from indigestion to sluggishness to colic.
